Idaho Health Insurance offers a special program for people working in small businesses called Access to Health Insurance. This is a premium assistance program that makes health insurance more affordable for employees of qualified small businesses.

The Idaho Health Insurance Access plan provides premium assistance of up to $100 per month per person to qualified employees, their spouses, and their minor children, with a maximum premium assistance of $500 per month, per family.

Access to Health Insurance is not a health insurance plan; it is a way to help pay for health insurance.
When you buy private health insurance in Idaho, insurers are allowed to turn down your application based on your health. However, if you had at least 18 months of continuous creditable coverage, the last day of which was under a group plan and you have used up all COBRA coverage, you may qualify for a HIPAA. People who are HIPAA-eligible are guaranteed the right to buy an individual health policy by Idaho Health Insurance.

Idaho Health Insurance provides coverage for children through two different programs: either through the Medicaid program or with the Access Card for Children.

The Idaho Health Insurance Medicaid program has been designed to cover children from families whose income falls at or below 133% of the federal poverty guidelines.

Idaho Health Insurance Medicaid now does more to improve your health, to help you to define health problems early on, and to manage current health problems. If you are eligible for Idaho Health Insurance Medicaid, you will receive benefits based on your health requirements.

The Idaho Health Insurance Medicaid Basic Plan is designed for healthy low-income children and adults who have eligible dependent children. This Idaho Health Insurance plan provides complete health, prevention, and wellness benefits for children and adults who don't have special health needs. Most Medicaid participants will be able to participate in this benefit plan.

The Idaho Health Insurance Medicaid Enhanced Plan is designed for people with disabilities or special health needs. This plan includes all of the same benefits as the Basic Plan, plus additional benefits meant to help you deal with your special needs.

The Idaho Health Insurance Medicare-Medicaid Coordinated Plan is for participants who are enrolled in both Medicare and Medicaid.

Healthy Connections is a mandatory Primary Care Case Management program for Idaho Health Insurance Medicaid members. The majority of people participating in either the Medicaid Basic or Enhanced Benefits Plans are required to enrol in Healthy Connections. Participating in Idaho Health Insurance Healthy Connections means you choose one doctor or clinic who will manage your healthcare.
Idaho Health Insurance Medicaid program is a government program designed to assist the poor in obtaining health care services. Pregnant women and children under age 19 who meet certain income requirements may be eligible for Idaho Health Insurance Medicaid coverage, along with aged, blind, and disabled individuals.

The Access Card for Children is Idaho Health Insurance premium payment assistance for children from families with an income between 133% and 185% of the federal poverty guidelines. Both programs are operated by the Idaho Health & Welfare Bureau.

Idaho Health Insurance Women’s Health Check offers free breast and cervical cancer screening to women who meet qualifying requirements. Exams are available from more than 250 qualified Idaho providers including district health departments, clinics, tribal health facilities, gynaecologists, and family practice doctors.

For the older members of Idaho’s population Idaho offers Idaho Senior Health Insurance Benefit Advisors Program (SHIBA). The Idaho Health Insurance SHIBA program provides free one-on-one counselling for Medicare beneficiaries who have questions about any aspect of Medicare, including the new Part D prescription drug benefit, or Medigap coverage.
